Jaleshwar Mahato, a resident of Chitwan, Nepal, faced a distressing situation after being involved in a vehicle accident while in Saudi Arabia. As a result of the incident, Jaleshwar was held in jail and required to pay a significant amount referred to as “Blood” money in order to secure his release. The financial burden was far beyond what his family could afford.
Jaleshwar’s parents, Sukaram Mahato and Malui Mahato, reached out for assistance, seeking financial support to fulfill the court-mandated payment and bring their son home. Their appeal was heartfelt, reflecting the urgency and difficulty of their situation.
The TFA responded to the family’s plea by organizing a fundraising campaign. Through the collective generosity of its members and well-wishers, TFA successfully raised a total of $1,091.00. This amount, equivalent to NRs. 1,22,800.00, was provided to meet the requirements for Jaleshwar’s release in April 2019.
TFA acknowledges the critical assistance provided by Kari Mahato in Nepal and Malati Chaudhary in New Mexico, USA. Their efforts in verifying information and coordinating the fund transfer were invaluable to the success of the campaign.
Thanks to the support and coordinated efforts, Jaleshwar Mahato was released from jail and safely returned to Nepal. He was reunited with his parents later in 2019, bringing relief and happiness to his family.
