Seema Chaudhary – Barefoot Runner

Introduction

Seema Chaudhary is an accomplished athlete hailing from the Far-Western Region of Nepal. Her determination and resilience were notably displayed during the 7th National Game in 2016, where she competed in the women’s 800-meter run without any footwear. Demonstrating exceptional skill and perseverance, Seema secured the bronze medal in this event.

Support Initiative

Recognizing Seema’s need for proper athletic equipment, The Tharus and Friends Association launched the “Donate $5.00” campaign. The objective of this initiative was to collect funds to purchase shoes and other essential athletic gear for Seema. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, the campaign successfully raised a total of $366.

Presentation of Funds

The collected funds were officially handed over to Seema Chaudhary during the Maghi Mahotsav in Kathmandu. The ceremony was marked by the presence of Ms. Onsari Gharti Magar, the Speaker of the House, who invited Seema as the chief guest and personally presented her with the donation. The program was diligently coordinated by Engineer Laxmi N. Chaudhari and Journalist Madan Chaudhary, ensuring a meaningful and well-organized event.
